About us

Thank you for using Petfriend! We’re here to help you every step of the way from “just looking” at adoptable pets, to bringing your pet home, to living a long and happy life with your new family member.

We have found new homes for thousands of animals and helped keep families together. But with a mission to Improve the Lives of Animals and build a more compassionate society, we go further. Way further.

We provide expert-led programs in training and behaviour, temporary sheltering, accessible veterinary care, and community support programs and services. Through partnerships with those who share our vision, we travel to remote regions to offer our resources and help prevent unnecessary euthanasia. And as a major voice in animal welfare, we use our platform to advocate for better legislation to protect animals while offering support to communities and organizations to help more animals and animal- loving communities.

We are an educational resource and support system. A leading voice in animal welfare and accessible care. We are a center of excellence. A space where best practices and boundary-pushing knowledge exchange meet with unyielding optimism and a love for animals to create something special.

Trinity is an 8-year-old Black Lab mix who was rescued from a house for her own protection. When she arrived at Pet Friend, her coat was very poor and thin. She had been living in a house with no gas, heat, or electricity. She is now the picture of health and better still, has a home with Jane. When she was told that Trinity’s eyes were not that great, she replied with a smile, “We have something in common!” This is the perfect dog for her – very sweet and gentle. They need each other.

At 12 years old he wasn’t the young pup that most people are in search of, but he caught the eye and heart of Carrie. A year after Carrie’s dog had passed away, she finally felt ready to find a new canine companion. Last fall, she went to Pet Friend and immediately fell in love with Jones and his playful yet laid back charm. Once all alone and without a loving owner, Jones will never be at a loss for love again. In a wonderful turn of luck, Jones has gotten three humans for the price of one and spends his days happily doted upon by Carrie and her parents, now a happy little family of four.
